Hello people and welcome to the blog of Kellie Coff, budding children's author, homeschool mum and eager student of life.
I have finally decided to plunge into the deep billabong of blogs. The water is murky and I cannot yet swim so please bare with me as I paddle around for a while.
I hope that this blog will be a good spot to keep you up to date with any important news, interesting facts or a sneak peek at some of my new work.
I'll call in from time to time and leave a tidbit for you so make sure you call back whenever you can and feel free to send in any requests.
If you haven't heard from me for a while don't worry too much, my Cat has probaly just taken me hostage again, but my hubby always pays the ransom eventually.
My last request was for a poem on Nature for a young girl named Denae. Hi Denea. Here's your poem.
NATURE
(c)2009 Kellie Coff
I wanted to find some “Nature”,
And Mum said it wouldn’t hurt.
If I went and had a look for it,
Down in the garden’s dirt.
I saw a little lizard,
And a humble bumble bee.
I found a hairy caterpillar
Climbing up an old gum tree.
There was a lady beetle
And a sweetly singing bird.
I even found what I had thought,
Could be an old dog’s turd.
It smelt a little funky,
So I left the mess alone.
I decided to look for “nature”
Underneath a great big stone.
A slimy little pink thing,
Gave a wriggle and a squirm.
I picked it up to look at it.
It was a fat and juicy worm.
I put the worm back in our garden,
Because worms have a job to do.
But I warned it to just stay clear,
Of that stinky old dog’s poo.
Our garden has all sorts of things
That I had found down there.
But that ‘Nature’ must be hiding,
I couldn’t find it anywhere.
